How to convert Filmora to Premiere Pro

Convert a Filmora project to Premiere Pro. Drop your .wfp on this page and download an XML file with your cuts, speed changes, transforms, crops, volume, fades, dissolves and titles.

  1. Find the .wfp

It's wherever you saved the project. Open the project in Filmora and choose File > Save Project As to see the folder, or to save a fresh copy somewhere easy to find.

  2. Drop it here and convert

The converter reads the project's timelines in your browser. Your main timeline comes across with its compound clips, and any compound clip you haven't placed comes across as a timeline of its own. Your video never uploads.

  3. Open it in Premiere Pro

In Premiere Pro, choose File > Import and pick the .xml. Keep the media where Filmora had it, or relink it once in Premiere Pro.

Filmora project and Premiere Pro XML, explained

A .wfp is a ZIP of JSON describing the edit, with no media inside. CutConvert reads that JSON and rebuilds the timeline for Premiere Pro. We worked out what each record means by saving known edits in Filmora 16.0.12 for Mac and comparing the values. Filmora's effects, filters, stickers, AI tools and title animations have no match in other editors. The download lists every one it leaves out, so you know what to rebuild.

Drop your .wfp, then import the XML in Premiere Pro with File > Import. Every clip stays separate and linked to your media. It is free to start, encrypted in transit, and converts a whole batch into one ZIP — sign in when you need large, high-volume jobs.

Filmora to Premiere Pro FAQ

Doesn't Filmora export XML itself?

Filmora 16 can, with File > Export > Final Cut Pro 7 XML. Older versions can't, so this page reads the .wfp instead.

Where do the clips point?

At the same files, in the same places. A .wfp stores each clip's full path, so Premiere Pro finds your media if it hasn't moved. Move it and you relink it once.

What about older Filmora projects?

Projects from older versions can use a different format. If one won't read, open it in a current Filmora, choose File > Save Project As, and drop the new copy.

What doesn't carry over?

Filmora's effects, filters, stickers, AI tools and title animations have no match in other editors. The download lists every one it leaves out, so you know what to rebuild.

Is it free?

A .wfp up to 500 KB converts free. Above that, this project is a one-time $5.

Guides for this workflow

Questions, answered

Where are my files processed?

In your browser. The file never leaves your computer, and CutConvert only records that a conversion happened. We never see, store, sell or share your media.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

Files up to about an hour of footage convert free on every converter. CapCut projects up to 500 KB convert free. Guests get five conversions a month; a free account has no monthly cap within the free size caps. Bigger files are $2 each, or $5 for a project conversion from one program to another ($9 into or out of CapCut). Pro is $12 a month ($120 a year) for files up to 50 MB. Studio is $24 a month ($240 a year) for files up to 500 MB.

What do I get when I convert multiple files?

One ZIP with every converted file. A single file comes back on its own. Press + to add more output formats: they go in the same ZIP, and each file still counts as one conversion.

Which formats are supported?

Projects in: Premiere .prproj, DaVinci Resolve .drp, Avid AAF and bins, Final Cut FCPXML, CapCut drafts and Audition sessions. Projects out: FCP7 XML, FCPXML, Resolve .drp, AAF, CapCut and REAPER, plus CMX 3600 EDL and shot-list CSV. Transitions, markers, titles, keyframes, levels, speed changes and nested sequences carry over wherever the target app can hold them. Captions: SRT, WebVTT, SBV, ASS, TTML, DFXP, iTT, SCC, MCC, EBU-STL, Avid caption TXT, timed CSV, Word and plain text. Transcripts: Whisper, WhisperX, AssemblyAI, Deepgram, Rev.ai and CapCut JSON, Premiere transcript JSON and .prtranscript, and Rev, Otter and Word-style text. Styling, placement and speakers come along where the output supports them.

Can I pick a frame rate?

Yes. For EDL and Avid caption output, choose 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97 or 30 fps, or let CutConvert detect it from your source.

Can CutConvert translate my titles?

Yes. Translate titles turns the titles, lower thirds and captions in a Premiere, Resolve, Final Cut, Avid or CapCut project into 80+ languages, with one ready-to-edit sequence per language. Only the on-screen text is sent to be translated, and the project file stays on your computer. Machine translation. Check with a fluent speaker before publishing. One project costs from $5, and Pro and Studio include it.
