Review caption text without changing timing

Send a spreadsheet for text corrections, then apply the reviewed text to the original subtitle file. Works with SRT and VTT, entirely in your browser.

Edit only edited_text in Excel or Google Sheets. Keep all rows and export as UTF-8 comma-separated CSV. Leading apostrophes protect spreadsheet cells; keep them when visible. Retain the original caption file to resume later.

Caption contents stay in this browser. This tool changes text only; it does not translate, retime, or certify delivery compliance.

A repeatable editorial review

Keep the source SRT or VTT, export the review sheet, and ask your reviewer to edit only the last column. Reopen the same source file when they return the CSV. Validate the edits, inspect the changed-cue count, and download the reviewed file for delivery.

FAQ

Can reviewers reorder rows?

Yes. Cue IDs match edits to the original positions. Missing, duplicate or unknown cue IDs are rejected.

Can I change timing or delete cues?

This workflow is text-only. Keep original_text, cue_id and timing unchanged and edit only edited_text. Empty edits and extra or missing rows are rejected.

What is preserved?

Original cue numbers and identifiers, timing lines, VTT settings, NOTE and STYLE blocks remain. Line endings normalize to LF. Keep the same original file when importing the review.
