EDL to CSV FAQ
Is an EDL the same as a CMX3600 file?
CMX3600 is the classic EDL flavor and the one this converter reads. It is the plain-text edit decision list that Avid Media Composer, Premiere Pro, and DaVinci Resolve all export, so if your NLE saved a .edl file, it will almost certainly work here.
What columns does the CSV contain?
You get one row per event with the clip name, reel, source and record timecode, plus duration in seconds and timecode. That structure drops straight into Excel, Google Sheets, or any database for sorting and auditing.
What would I use an EDL-to-CSV conversion for?
Common uses are conform prep, VFX pulls, music cue sheets, and QC reports — anywhere you need to sort, audit, or share the cuts in a sequence as spreadsheet data rather than raw EDL text.
