Convert Premiere Project to DaVinci Resolve DRP

Neither. The converter reads the .prproj file itself, and the .drp it writes imports into any DaVinci Resolve — including the free version — via File > Import Project.

Sequences with their video and audio tracks, every clip's timeline position, duration and source offset, clip names, and media file paths — the cut itself. Transitions, effects, color, titles, and multicam nesting are not converted.

In Resolve's Project Manager, right-click and choose Import Project (or File > Import Project), select the .drp, and open the imported project. Relink the media to your files if Resolve asks — the paths from the Premiere project ride along to make that automatic when the files are in place.

That is DaVinci Resolve's standard timeline start timecode, and the converter follows the same convention Resolve's own projects use. Your cuts keep their relative positions exactly.

A Resolve project has a single frame rate, so the converter uses the first edited sequence's rate and leaves out sequences that do not match — the conversion report tells you when that happens. Convert mismatched sequences separately if you need them all.

XML is the well-worn interchange path and imports one timeline at a time; .drp arrives as a whole Resolve project with all timelines and the media pool set up. If .drp import ever misbehaves with your project, the prproj to XML converter is the proven fallback.
