How to convert JSON to Premiere JSON
Convert AI transcript JSON into the transcript JSON Adobe Premiere Pro imports for text-based editing. CutConvert reads OpenAI Whisper (verbose_json with word_timestamps), WhisperX, whisper.cpp, AssemblyAI, Deepgram, Rev.ai, AWS Transcribe and Google Speech-to-Text output, and writes a Premiere static transcript whose words carry the timestamps the transcription engine measured, so Premiere's text-based editing cuts on the real word boundaries.
Add your JSON file
Drag in the transcript JSON. The dialect is detected automatically; word timestamps are used when the file has them, and interpolated from the segment timing when it does not.
Convert to Premiere JSON
Press Convert. Segments become Premiere transcript segments with speakers and word-level timing.

Transcript JSON and Premiere transcript JSON, explained
Premiere Pro's own transcription is good but not always the engine you want: a project may already have a Whisper large-v3 transcript, an AssemblyAI diarized transcript, or a corrected one from a service. Premiere reads a specific JSON layout with a segment list, speakers and a word array per segment. This converter writes that layout from any of the transcript dialects the JSON to SRT converter reads, and where the source carries word timestamps it keeps them measured rather than spreading each segment's duration evenly across its words. The result imports through the Text panel like a Premiere transcript.

JSON to Premiere JSON FAQ
Which JSON formats are supported?
OpenAI Whisper verbose_json (with or without word_timestamps), WhisperX, whisper.cpp, AssemblyAI, Deepgram, Rev.ai, AWS Transcribe, Google Speech-to-Text, YouTube caption JSON, Podcast Namespace transcripts and generic {start, end, text} arrays.
Are the word timestamps real?
When the source has them, yes: every word keeps the start and duration the engine measured. A plain Whisper verbose_json without word_timestamps has segment times only, so the words are spaced evenly inside each segment and the fidelity line under the preview says so.
How do I import the result into Premiere?
Open the Text panel, choose Import transcript from the panel menu, and pick the JSON. Premiere attaches it to the selected sequence or clip.
Do speaker names come through?
Yes. Speakers from diarized transcripts become Premiere speakers, and the cue text is not prefixed with them.

Why editors trust it
Free to start
Convert everyday batches for free. Create an account when you need large, high-volume jobs.
Batch in, one ZIP out
Drop up to 10 files at once and download a single ZIP, or one file if that is all you need.
Made for editors
Whole timelines from Premiere, Final Cut and Avid with transitions, markers, titles, keyframes, levels, nests and bins; captions that keep their italics, colour and placement across SRT, VTT, SCC, STL and TTML; transcripts into Premiere with the words the engine timed. Frame rates and timecode handled the way post expects.
Private by design
Files are converted in your browser and never uploaded. Nothing is stored, sold or shared; only a count of conversions is kept.
Questions, answered
Where are my files processed?
In your browser. The converter runs on your own machine and the file never leaves it; the site only records that a conversion happened. CutConvert never sees, stores, sells or shares your media.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Small, everyday batches are free to convert. For large or high-volume jobs you'll create an account and upgrade, which keeps the free tier fast for everyone.
What do I get when I convert multiple files?
Drop several files and you get back one ZIP archive containing every converted file. Convert a single file and you get that one file back, no ZIP.
Which formats are supported?
Timelines: Premiere .prproj, DaVinci Resolve .drp, Avid AAF and Final Cut FCPXML in; FCP7 XML, FCPXML, Resolve .drp, CMX 3600 EDL and shot-list CSV out. A Premiere or Final Cut edit travels with its transitions, markers, titles, opacity and scale keyframes, clip volume, speed changes, nested sequences, bins, audio channel routing and each file's own frame rate, wherever the output has a place for them; an Avid AAF brings its transitions and markers. Captions and transcripts: SRT, WebVTT, SBV, ASS, TTML, iTT, SCC, MCC, EBU-STL, Avid caption TXT, timed CSV, Word, plain text, Whisper, WhisperX, AssemblyAI, Deepgram, Rev.ai and CapCut JSON, Premiere transcript JSON and .prtranscript, Rev, Otter and Word-style transcripts, with italics, colour, placement and speakers kept where the output can hold them and measured word timing into Premiere. EDLs become event CSV reports. The capability table lists what every pair keeps.
Can I pick a frame rate?
Yes. For EDL and Avid caption output you can choose 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97, or 30 fps, or let CutConvert auto-detect it from your source.
