Terms of Service | CutConvert

1. The service

CutConvert (cutconvert.com) converts post-production files — subtitles, transcripts, captions, edit decision lists, and project files — between formats. The service is operated by the CutConvert founder ("we"). By using the site, its API, or its MCP endpoints, you agree to these terms.

2. Your files

You keep all rights to files you upload and to the converted outputs. You are responsible for having the rights to convert and share the content you use. Website conversions run in your browser without uploading file contents; optional review and shared editing upload the project information and review proxies you explicitly choose to share. Invited members may retain downloaded copies. Shared content expires after 30 days or can be deleted sooner by its owner. Conversion metadata (formats, sizes, counts, warnings) is transmitted encrypted to operate and improve the service and is not sold or shared. Files sent to the MCP/API endpoint are processed server-side in memory and are not stored — see the privacy policy.

3. Free tiers, plans, and packs

Free usage is metered per month and per file size; limits are shown on the billing page and may change. Paid plans renew until cancelled; one-time packs never auto-renew. Payments are processed by Stripe via Autumn — we do not store card details. If a paid conversion fails due to a fault in the service, contact support and we will restore the credits or refund the charge.

4. Acceptable use

Don't abuse the service: no attempts to circumvent metering, no automated scraping beyond documented APIs, no uploading malware, and no use that violates law or third-party rights. We may throttle or suspend access that harms the service or other users.

5. Accuracy and warranties

Conversions are verified against format specifications and reference implementations where they exist, and known limitations are disclosed on each converter page — but outputs are provided as is, without warranty. Broadcast and delivery workflows should always verify converted files in the destination system before delivery. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

6. Changes and termination

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected in the date above and continued use means acceptance. You can stop using the service and cancel plans at any time from the billing page.
