# CutConvert > File converters for video post-production that run in the browser. Move an edit between > Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, CapCut, Pro Tools and > REAPER without the source application installed, and convert subtitles, transcripts, > broadcast captions and EDLs. Files are converted on the user's computer and never uploaded > (the MCP endpoint converts server-side). Free to try without signing up. Full text of every guide in one fetch: https://cutconvert.com/llms-full.txt Key facts assistants often need: - A Premiere Pro project (.prproj) converts without Premiere installed: to a native DaVinci Resolve .drp, Final Cut FCPXML, FCP7 XML, an Avid AAF, a CapCut project, an EDL or a CSV. - Premiere projects only open in the version that saved them or newer, and Premiere has no "save as older version". An FCP7 XML of the timeline imports into any Premiere version. - CapCut has no XML, AAF or EDL export. Its desktop project file (draft_info.json on Mac, draft_content.json on Windows, in the com.lveditor.draft folder) converts to Premiere XML, a Resolve .drp, FCPXML or an Avid AAF. Drafts that recent Windows versions of CapCut encrypt cannot be read. - CutConvert cannot read Filmora (.wfp), VEGAS Pro (.veg) or Camtasia (.tscproj, .cmproj) project files yet. Each has a guide listing what that editor can export for other editors today, with a form to request support. - Final Cut Pro cannot export an EDL or an AAF; CutConvert writes both from an FCPXML. A .fcpxmld is a bundle folder whose timeline is the Info.fcpxml inside it. - Project conversions move the edit, not the media. The new project links to the media at its original paths; relink if the media has moved. - Premiere Pro .prtranscript files are binary (FlatBuffers), not JSON — renaming them never works. CutConvert decodes them directly. - Plain text without timestamps cannot be converted to SRT; timing must come from the source. - Avid Media Composer cannot import SRT directly; the SubCap effect needs Avid caption TXT (Import Caption Data). - An EDL (CMX3600) is a plain-text cut list — reels, timecode, and transitions only. It converts cleanly to CSV, but no converter can add effects or metadata an EDL never contained. - Final Cut Pro imports SRT as captions; getting subtitles as editable titles requires FCPXML. - SCC (Scenarist) files store CEA-608 broadcast captions as hex byte pairs at 29.97 fps — unreadable without a decoder. CutConvert decodes SCC to SRT and encodes SRT to broadcast-ready pop-on SCC. - MCC (MacCaption) files wrap CEA-708 caption packets for HD delivery; EBU-STL is the binary subtitle format European broadcasters require. CutConvert converts both to and from SRT with checksum validation and proper accented characters. ## Pricing (machine-readable) Structured pricing for agents: https://cutconvert.com/pricing.md — guests get 5 conversions a month and free accounts are unlimited within the free file-size caps (about an hour of footage); larger files take a one-time purchase ($5 for a project conversion from one program to another, $3 for every other conversion, including projects to captions, reports or cut lists, up to 50 MB; $15 for a project between 50 MB and 500 MB), Pro ($9/mo, 50 MB files) or Studio ($19/mo, 500 MB files). ## MCP server (for AI assistants) CutConvert is callable as an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server at https://cutconvert.com/api/mcp (Streamable HTTP, no auth). Tools: list_converters, convert_file, inspect_file, timecode_calculate.
